I would really like to go from thailand to laos and then go by the mekong river. I noticed that shannonpants?

did this and I would like to know if there is an organised week trip. I may be going on my own so I would find that more preferrable. It would be in February so that would tie in to it being the dry season. thanxs

I'm still thinking about your trying to do this on your own... there are some serious BANDITS in the hills and parts of Laos and not considered safe for foreigners... ESPECIALLY Americans...

You had better either go with a formal group or not at all... running around Laos alone can get you dead.

The Liao River is in Manchuria region of China and not in Laos. All the other rivers ar associated with the correct country.
