is it possible to rent a car in vientiane laos?

well, theoretically it is, but you should have a local or an ASEAN driving license, even if some tourist guides say otherwise. Another con is that if you are having any trouble with, say, the engine or else, while driving in the countryside, there will be a very few people able to fix the problem.
You should rent a Toyota Vigo pick-up, as it seems to be the only kind of car circulating in Lao.
