Laos Hotels and Holidays

by Darshi ChohanLe Bel Air Hotel (my hotel) by wharman

You can see ancient Indochina culture and green forests on holidays in Laos. Travellers who are more experienced will enjoy the country's "off the beaten track" character, but there are also Laos luxury hotels for comfort and relaxation.

Properly known as Lao People's Democratic Republic, Laos is a country in South East Asia. Like the neighbouring countries of Vietnam and Cambodia to the south, Laos's architecture reflects the traditional styles of Indochina combined with French colonial influence of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. On Laos holidays you will see buildings and temples with staggered, overlapping roofs like the shell, and golden temples with ornate carvings.

Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang, a popular tourist destination and UNESCO World Heritage site, is located in the North of Laos where the Nam Khane River meets the Mekong. Although it is a small town, Luang Prabang was once the capital city of Laos. You will quickly notice the strong influence of Buddhism here, the town being home to eighty monasteries. As well as its many monks, this area was once known as "the kingdom of a million elephants," so you will be able to enjoy an elephant ride on your Laos holidays here.

The 3 Nagas Hotel

One of the most historic of the Laos luxury hotels in this region is the 3 Nagas by Alila. It is a boutique Laos hotel comprised of three buildings that are each more than a hundred years old. One of the buildings was constructed in 1898 for a visit from the Laos Royal Family. Each has been modernised to make this a luxurious and peaceful place to stay, but the restoration has kept this Laos hotel's historical charm intact.

To maintain its intimate feel, the 3 Nagas by Alila has just 17 rooms, individually furnished and decorated, featuring wooden beams and smooth wooden floors. Balconies look out over the lush green garden with its pentagonal pond where you can lie on a lounger and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

La Residence

Another of the Laos luxury hotels in this region is La Residence (Phou Vao), located just ten minutes from Luang Prabang's centre. It is decorated to reflect the country's culture, with an indoor water feature, as well as a lily pond in the garden. But the best feature of La Residence is this Laos hotel's amazing mountain views over the forest.

Places to Visit and Sites to See

Places to visit during your visit to Luang Prabang on your Laos holidays include the Royal Palace, the Kuang Si Falls and the Pak Ou Caves. Since the communist government deposed the royal family in the 1970s, The Royal Palace has been a museum for people on Laos holidays to explore.

The Kuang Si Falls are about 20 miles away from Luang Prabang, where you can see the pools and cascading water, taking in some nature before returning to your Laos hotel. It takes two hours to reach the Caves at Pak Ou by boat, during which time you can take in the atmosphere of the jungle. At the caves, holidaymakers can see hundreds of icons and figurines lining cave walls, another example of Laos's historical ties to the Buddhist tradition.

Monterey Akasaka Hotel Tokyo Hotel Review

Overview:
Located in the center of the Akasaka district, the Monterey Akasaka Hotel Tokyo is adjacent to the Akasaka Imperial Grounds. Nearby subway access provides guests with access to various parts of Tokyo and the attractions that they provide. The Monterey Akasaka Hotel Tokyo is a 5 minute walk from a subway station with three different lines which provide access to Tokyo Station, Ginza, Roppongi, Shibuya, and Shinjuku. The Aoyma-Ichome Subway Station is 8 minutes away on foot. Tokyo's Narita International Airport is located approximately 45 miles away.

All 196 rooms of the Monterey Akasaka Hotel Tokyo are comfortably arranged and well-appointed with modern amenities to help make your stay a comfortable one. The rooms feature free high speed Internet access, satellite television, a minibar, tea making facilities, air-conditioning, a refrigerator, and a hairdryer.

Opened in April of 2007, this 13-story hotel offers guests a dry cleaning service, 24-hour front desk service, and parking (with fees). There is also an on-site restaurant in the Monterey Akasaka Hotel Tokyo that serves guests delectable French cuisine in a relaxing setting.

Review:
•The queen space was very tiny but common for Tokyo at this cost point. Our travelling companions obtained a twin double space which was practically twice as huge and only about 20% much more expensive, I would advise this option. The space was spotless, with aircon, flat display tv and washlet bathroom. The space is extremely quiet, we experienced no problems sleeping. The only minor problem was the fact that bed and pillows have been a little hard.Front cubical and cleanup office staff have been extremely friendly and helpful. We required to hire a pc just one evening along using the concierge brought it immediately at a sensible charge. We designed our booking 4 weeks in advance and didn't reconfirm, nonetheless the confirm in was smooth and hassle free. It's only only a tiny accommodation which means you could get individual support away from your staff. This accommodation is in Akasaka, which could be primarily a cute villagey area using an awesome offer of restaurants, bars with one another with a supermarket for the main street. There is lots of lifestyle for the path but it's not so nuts as Shinjuku which could be nice. Akasaka-mitsuke station is about 10 mins stroll and is also for the Ginza and Maranouchi lines, so it has instant subway connections to Ginza, Tokyo, Asakusa, Ueno, Shinjuku and Shibuya stations. The stroll is primarily only a tiny way but worth it for the cost from the hotel. all round a awesome accommodation at this cost point, extremely recommended.

CheapOstay.com, Booking.com, Agoda.com - A Review and Comparison of Online Hotel Booking Websites

There sure are a lot of choices when it comes to finding reliable hotel reservation companies for finding the best hotel rates. CheapOstay, Booking and Agoda.com are just a few of the most popular and best reliable online hotel agencies for finding them. All of these agencies are highly reliable and have saved money for millions of travelers who need a hotel to rest their heads for the night. But which company stands above the rest for room rates and reliability?

Agoda.com

If you want the best rates for hotels in Asia it's best to stick with Agoda.com. This relatively unknown hotel reservation company is based out of Singapore but they do have satellite offices throughout the world. Though they are best for searching out the best hotel deals in Asia. Agoda also offers their customers PayPal payment option, one of the easiest and secure ways to make online transactions discretely.

Booking.com

From the northern tips of Europe down to South Africa, Booking.com, a hotel agency headquartered in the Netherlands is the best website for finding quality hotels, B and B's and quaint guesthouses at affordable rates as well as some of the best budget hostels that backpackers love. They are a huge worldwide company but their specialty lies in the European hotel market and the regions surrounding it.

CheapOstay.com

This is an agency that has been getting a lot of attention lately and not just from me. Travel and Leisure Magazine also reviewed CheapOstay and gave it top honors, stating that their name is well deserved. While doing some price checking and comparisons on their website I have noticed significant savings for hotels around the world that they represent.

What most savvy travelers particularly like is that these agencies do not charge fees and are very easy to use to find hotels and make a room reservation with instant room confirmations.

While it is a good idea to check the rates of a hotel directly to get a baseline price most travelers will find that these agencies offer lower room rates. Hotels rely on these agencies to push out notices of special hotel rates and deals because all of these agencies have a huge presence on the Internet. This in turn translates to more visibility for their hotel property and increases the chances of a traveler booking a room in their property.

Review Of Hotels

review of hotels="review of hotels"
What is the best hotel to stay at while at Lackland AFB?

We will be in Lackland from Sept 26-30 to see our son graduate from Basic Training. We want to be near the base but are getting really discouraged reading hotels reviews - some say they are UNSAFE and DIRTY while some say those exact same hotels are GREAT. Please be as honest as possible and help us figure out where to stay. There will be 3 of us - my husband and myself as well as our 13 year old son staying there. We are coming from Maine and have never been to Texas. We plan to visit the Riverwalk and Seaworld while there.

The La Quinta Inn received 3 stars out of 5 according to Google Maps. There are 37 reviews - many of them were positive. There's also the Holiday Inn.
