Laos travel advices?

Travel Advice To Laos

A Visa is required to enter Laos and this should be applied for at least 5 working days prior to departure. However, it is now also possible to collect visas on arrival at Vientiane International Airport, Luang Prabang International Airport and the Friendship Bridge between Laos and Thailand without prior authorisation. This costs 75AUD for single entry or 90AUD for double entry and requires the filling in of an application form and one passport size photo.

The airport tax in Laos for International Flights is 10USD and Domestic Flights is 1USD.

Offices and museums are usually open from Monday to Friday from 8:00am until 4:00pm and often close for lunch between 12:00am and 2:00pm. Shops open from Monday to Saturday between 9:00am and 5:00pm and some also open on Sunday.
Laos has a nationwide curfew of 12am so try to avoid going out or travel

is 800 USD enough money for 3 weeks of traveling in cambodia laos and vietnam?

my 4 friends and i are going to backback through these 3 countries. we are going to use busses and trains as a mode of transportation. we are not oging to do tours or expecting fancy meals.

if you just eat hawker food(stay away from restaurants, because they are more expensive). travel on buses and trains, not in cabs or rental cars. don't be so fussy where you stay as long as it has a bed and is clean with atleast a ceiling fan if not air conditioning. be careful of the local people because they will attemp to charge you more $ for things because they think you have alot of money being a foriengner.learn what things cost in each country and try to make a friend or 2 on line before you go if possible(someone to show you around). if you can take all these things into concideration and depending on how long you are staying, $800 should do you.

How difficult is it to travel around south east asia on a motorbike?

I will be traveling around vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia etc, and I want to buy a motorbike in Vietnam for that. Would there be many technicalities to have to deal with? How difficult is it to get a vehicle across the borders? How much would a cheap bike cost me in Vietnam?

buy lots of insurance
