i dnt rememer the title. i think its from the 80's. the movie takes place in laos or cambodia or somewhere there. the young french girl desires to become a prostitute. the chinese guy is a merchant who eventually becomes an opium addict. they hve an elicit affair. i think it was nominated 4 an oscar

Vesak (Sinhalese) is the most holy time in the Buddhist calendar. In Indian Mahayana Buddhist traditions, the holiday is known by its Sanskrit equivalent, Vaisakha. The word Vesak itself is the Sinhalese language word for the Pali variation, "Visakha". Visakha/Vaisakha is the name of the second month of the Indian calendar. Vesak is also known as Visakah Puja or Buddha Purnima in India, Bangladesh and Nepal, Visakha Bucha in Thailand, Phat Dan in Vietnam, Waisak in Indonesia, Vesak (Wesak) in Sri Lanka and Malaysia, and Saga Dawa in Tibet. The equivalent festival in Laos is called Vixakha Bouxa and in Myanmar is called Ka-sone. Vesak is a public holiday in many Asian countries like Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and so on.

Vietnam War- Interview songs?

I am doing a project on a personal hero. I picked this woman I know who is in her 50's she had 3 kids starve over in Laos during the Vietnam war, along with many other emotional catatrophes. During the I movie I have to have a song playing. I didn't know if there was any sad songs, memorable songs about the vietnam that were made in response to all that happened. Or any other songs you suggest?

It could relate to war in general also.

One Tin Solder (I think it's sung by many artists, I know the one by Peter Paul and Mary.) I believe it was written for that war.
