i dnt rememer the title. i think its from the 80's. the movie takes place in laos or cambodia or somewhere there. the young french girl desires to become a prostitute. the chinese guy is a merchant who eventually becomes an opium addict. they hve an elicit affair. i think it was nominated 4 an oscar
