Traveling in Laos? Advise? Things to see/do?

I need help with an itenary for Laos, I am going in March 2008.
What should I see/do? What are some good restruants? Hotels?

Vientiane and Luang Prabang are the main tourist attractions so if you go there, plenty of co-travellers, guest house receptionists and tour companies can tell where to go, what to see & do.

If you want to explore more independently, then you should head to Champassak -- you got to see Si Phan Don, the waterfall on Mekong, and the pink freshwater dolphins.

Phonsavan and the Plain of Jars are interesting, but not a must.

Two provinces that I haven't visited in years are Khammuan and Sekong. Their natural beauty is breathtaking, but getting around is not easy as the road network is pretty basic.

Is £1000 enough for a couple to stay in South East Asia for a month?

We are planning in travelling in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos, and will stay in cheap, but decent hotels, ideally with private bathrooms. Is £1000 enough for the 2 of us?

Just got back from 5 months in S E Asia. I loved it,especially Laos. To me Bangkok is a money pit only worth stayin in as a place of transit and to get visas and flights. In the other countries I reckon you get by easily on 4 to 5 quid a night for decent accommodation and food, especially off the streets is dirt cheap. Even eating in restaurants you can get a main meal for 1 or 2 quid, bloody good fresh food too, go for it. It's a helluva lot cheaper than staying here and of course a lot warmer!

SOUTH EAST ASIA - Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia?

I am going to all the above countries. I hope to spend a year in Asia with my boyfriend and was wondering how much we would need for a year moneywise. We stay in cheap hotels and eat resonably cheaply and dont only go to the tourist resorts. We get goverment buses too. We do smoke though and we drink. We are planning to only spend a couple of weeks in malaysia and the rest of the year everywhere else.
Can anyone give us any idea on how much we wll need to take?

Rocky Point, Mexico information?

I am taking my girlfriend to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco), Mexico in a couple of weeks. I've already booked a place to stay (Laos Mar Hotel), but we have never been there so I have a few questions.

We are looking to snorkel, but don't a good place to do it and rent the equipment. Is the sea water clear at Rocky Point?

How much does it cost to jet ski or ATV?

Are there any other recommended activities? We were thinking about one of the sunset cruises.

I was told that you should tip every local you see $1. Is this recommended?

Is there a nice beach we can get to without staying at a resort?

Sandy Beach has all the activities, horse back riding,water jets,bananna boat rides,the cruises are fun Pirate ship is the best. Next time you go I would recommend staying at a resort they are right on the beach and also have pools.
Princesa is my pick for best places to stay and the beach
About the tips I would only tip like you do in the states.
