Cheap Hotels are Easy to Find if You Know Where to Look

The star rating is a system reviewers of hotels use to rate the cleanliness, the amenities and the service at a particular hotel. The amenities are the extras that a hotel offers its guest such as a pool, spa, and car service or in room items such as coffee makers, ironing boards, computer/Internet hook ups and hot tubs. Rooms with little or no amenities will rate lower on the star scale than those that offer several extra features.

Obtaining cheap hotels is a matter of looking online and comparing prices for what you want, when you want it. If you want to stay in a hotel at a certain time of year, then you can search for cheap hotels under a calendar and then by the number of stars. Some travel sites on the web allow you to put in the dates of your trip into a search box and then it brings up the various hotels that have offers or openings on those particular days.

Other websites allow you to search by amenities such as pools, in-room hot tubs or computer/Internet hookups. If you are looking for a cheap hotel that has room service 24-hours a day or is close to a particular tourist site, then you can put that in your search box as one of the criteria for a cheap hotel.

Cheap hotels do not always mean they are dirty or seedy and on the bad side of town. Many hotels do not sell all of the rooms they can so they reduce the prices for the Internet companies to sell at drastically reduced rates. Cheap hotels can be a five star hotel in the middle of downtown Chicago or Los Angeles if you know where to look.

Five stars are the most stars a hotel can receive and they indicate that the hotel is the best at being a hotel. They have the best service, amenities, rooms and features such as location that the hotels in the area have to offer. Finding a five star hotel for a two star price is easy online. Two star hotels are truly cheap hotels and probably not worth staying in unless you are just going to sleep there and even then, one should be cautious of the conditions.

The price of a two star cheap hotel can be applied to a five star hotel when there are specials or deals for certain times of the year or when the hotel expected to book all the rooms but did not and they want to fill them up. A cheap hotel does not have to mean you are giving anything up, you are only paying a cheaper price for the same thing that would have cost you twice or three times as much had you paid the full price.
