Flight Laos

Tips on being comfortable on a long flight with multi-stops (economy seat)?

LAX--Taipei--Bangkok--Laos. Any DO's and DON'Ts??

Definitely staying hydrated is important. I have flown from LAX to TPE. It is a long flight so bring a book to read. Also the airline should be showing a movie so you can at least watch different movies or listen to music.

The airlines stress getting up and walking around to prevent deep vein thrombosis. In the in-flight magazines, they have some exercises you can do to help circulation.

The airlines will periodically serve you beverages such as juice or water. Do accept the beverage every time it is offered. They may also give you a moist towel to wipe your face since the air sometimes is dry in the cabin.

Enjoy your flight. If you can sleep, try to get some rest. You can try to ask for an emergency exit row since you get more legroom but those seats are usually reserved for those who fly a lot with the airline. You can still ask anyway.

China Focus Travel- Palace You Must See

China Tours now has a spread fans all over the world, tourists seemingly have been fascinated by the mysterious country. However, if you want to have a better china travel, you need to facility yourselves the travel information, and in the following passage I will share some experience with you and I hope it will do you a favor.

Ancient City Tour

China has thousands of years history and many famous ancient cities are well known by the travel fans. Such as Beijing, Nanjing, Xi'an, and the like. And here I will take Xi'an for example and introduce you the fantastic sites for you.

Xi'an is located in the northwest of China, and as the capital of Shangxi Province, it has attracted many visitors both domestic and abroad.

One of the most attractive spots is the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. This magnificent project, which was built more than several thousands years ago, is located about 40 km east of Xi'an. The army of more than 6,000 life size terracotta warriors, with horses and chariots lined up facing east and ready for battle, is one of the world's most remarkable archaeological finds. Another fabulous attraction is the 7 story Great Wild Goose Pagoda. It was built in 652AD; and as a striking elegant building and the symbol of Xian, the Goose Pagoda has many travel fans.

Sea view

China faces the East Sea, standing in the east of Asia. As a result, the sea view is worth to have a visit. Qingdao, the capital of Shandong Province, is located in the east of China. It is a beautiful city with blue sky, fresh air, cool breeze, beach, sea food, waves, and wonderful things beyond your imagination. As I have mentioned, Seafood should not be missed in Qingdao. Qingdao seafood has unique flavors, fresh and light, popular with tourists. The top-end hotels such as Shangri-La Hotel and Qingdao Hotel, and the Yiqinglou Restaurant serve dainty seafood. What's more, you can have adventurous travel in Qingdao, such as surfing the waves, climbing the mountains. The most famous mountain here is Lao Mountain. Different from many famous mountains in China, it rises from the sea level, and has a coast line of 87 kilometers, structuring a wonder on the sea. The main peak, named Large Peak or Peak Lao, is over 1100 meters high above sea level. Take a walk around, with the sea on one side, and lofty stones and precipitous peaks on the other side, both majestic and elegant.

Natural scene

China has vast territory and abundant resources, so if you have a trip you will have a broad look of different views. Now, the natural scene I will introduce is Guilin, in Guangxi Province, it is the capital of Guangxi, which located in the south of China. Guilin is the typical landscape of the south area in China. The famous attractions is Li River, which surrounding the mountains. When the sunlight sparks on the river, it looks like a liquid jade belt. A cruise along the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is an unforgettable experience. As you take in the stunning scenery there's something interesting to see at almost every bend in the river. Between spectacular limestone peaks you'll see graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river. You may see fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and if you're very lucky you might see one of the famous fishing cormorants. Boats depart from various wharves, according to the height of the river at different times of the year.

China will give you more surprise than you can imagine, so why not take a China Flights and have a try?

Laos Tickets

laos tickets="laos tickets"
My travel dillemma?

I'm from Melbourne and I have a flight booked for Bangkok on the 24th of January to travel in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos for 1 month. The only problem is that my fiancee can no longer come as he just recived a role as an extra for Speilberg's Pacific War (which means the world to him as he wants to become an actor).
There is no way that we can change the name on the ticket and due to my uni semester this is the only time I can go.
Now it looks like I have to go alone, I'm 20 yo and have never left Australia.
What should I do. I'm sort of scared obviously, as it's a foreign country and all I can say is sa wad dii!
Any tips or suggestions on escaping complete boredom and safety by myself would be great!

Two things:
1) You have a problem. The airlines won't change names, but re-issue the entire ticket in the new name. You will then have to apply for a refund for the cancelled ticket. There will probably be a charge.
2) Thailand is great for travelling. There are many backpackers and people your age bumming around the place. It is very friendly (but always be cautious). There will not be an issue going by yourself but it is always a lot more fun to experience it with someone else. Get the costs together and market it to your friends and family. There is always someone who wants to go!

How to Get to the Temples of Angkor Wat-cambodia

For many the first sighting of the majestic Angkor temples was through the Lara Croft:  Tomb Raider movie with Angelina Jolie. Who could forget the sight of the giant trees with massive root structures engulfing the roofs and walls of the Ta Phrom temple?

The Ta Phrom temple is but one temple in the Angkor Park, with the most well known and photographed being Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. The Angkor temple complex is a World Heritage site noted not only for its architecture but its massive carved reliefs which are works of art in their own right.

Angkor Wat is situated in the North Western area of Cambodia in Siem Reap City.  The easiest and quickest route there is by air landing at the Siem Reap International Airport.  The airport which is Cambodia’s second largest is located 7 kilometres from the city centre.

The Siem Reap International Airport is serviced by over twenty different airlines.  Some of these airlines include Air Asia, Asiana Air, Singapore Airlines, Jetstar Asia Airlines, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Royal Khmer Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Lao Aviation, Siem Reap Airways, Silk air, Dragon Air, Bangkok Air (Asia’s Best Regional Airline 2008), Angkor Airways and China Yunnan Airlines.

The above-mentioned airlines, many of which are international carriers offer incoming and outgoing flights to a number of South East Asian cities.  These cities include Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Vientiane, Taipei, Incheon and Canton.  A bonus for travellers is that they may get an aerial glimpse of Angkor Wat on their flights into or out of the Airport.

Besides direct flights travellers can be redirected from Cambodia’s Capital City Airport, The Phnom Penh International Airport. This is a short forty five minute flight from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. In comparison the bus trip over the sealed highway or the boat trip up the Tonie Sap Lake would take five to six hours.

For the more adventurous, there is an overland route from Bangkok, Thailand via the border at Poi Pet. Travellers face a nine to ten hour bus trip to their Angkor destination albeit at a far cheaper price. Once in Siem Reap the treasures of the Angkor temples await them.

Excluding the peace corps, list some programs where I can travel abroad for free and volunteer.?

While I am able to find several programs that include room & board, I am unable to find a program that INCLUDES the cost of airfare.

Could anybody suggest programs that include ALL expenses, especially airfare. I am interested in travelling to Africa or Asia, particularly to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, India, or Thailand.

Thank you!

VSO, maybe. I think you have to pay your way there but they will pay for your return flight. They give you a living allowance.

Flying To Laos

The significance of numbers in Feng Shui

The numbers between 1 and 9 play a significant role in authentic Chinese Feng Shui as they represent the different Elements, the Flying Stars and compass directions. And they feature with similar relevance and importance in I Ching Astrology.

Why Are Numbers So Important?

Many Chinese people will have their Feng Shui consultant or Chinese astrologer choose appropriate numbers for them that will benefit their horoscope or their home.  It is quite common to see certain combinations of numbers appearing on the licence plates of cars, business telephone numbers and street addresses.  It is a complex procedure, but the combination of the various facets of your horoscope can produce for you certain lucky numbers and many gamblers in Hong Kong and Malaysia and China have found out what they consider is their winning combination!

When studying or reading about authentic Feng Shui in the West, it is important to differentiate between the science of this magnificent system and Chinese superstition.  To this end, the number 4 is widely regarded by the Chinese as an unlucky number.  Why?  It is simply in the pronunciation, whether in Cantonese or Mandarin, that 4 is pronounced ‘sih' which also sounds very close to the Chinese name of Death.  It is simply for this reason, rather like in the West where the number 13 is considered unlucky, that the Chinese try to avoid using the number 4 in their address.  Culturally, it is considered unlucky.

Numbers and Feng Shui Theory

There are several different formulas that are used by Feng Shui Masters that incorporate the use of numbers.  Different Schools of Feng Shui have different applications for the numbers, but there are certain threads that ring true for all the different Schools.

To begin with, all Schools recognise that the 9 numbers, beginning with number 1 through to 9, can be allotted to one of the Five Elements, to the seasons, to a phase of growth and, with the exception of number 5, a Trigram from the I Ching.

Since Feng Shui is the skill of being in ‘the right place at the right time', it is important to remember that there are 20-year cycles of time, which are each governed by one of the numbers.  E.g., the 7 Fate covered 1984-2004 and the 8 Fate begins on the 4th February 2004 through until the 3rd February 2024.

As a result, in 2004 the number 8 becomes very dominant and powerful.  The next two Fates that will be coming into line are the 9 and the 1, and these numbers are getting stronger at present.  Numbers 2, 3, 4 and 5 are very quiet and in a hibernation mode.  The numbers 6 and 7 have recently had their say and are waning in power.

Therefore the most powerful numbers to choose at present are the 8, the 9 and the 1.

Useful Examples

Here are some useful examples of the 9 numbers and their various interpretations.  Have a look at your telephone number, the number of your home, or the licence plate of your car, and see what kind of symbolism it may reveal.  Equally, what numbers might you choose if you had the choice?  You could base this on your Trigram number or even your 9 Star Ki number.

Thinking of going to Australia but first i want to go all around Asia i have 9000 Euro before flights?

Thinking of going to Australia but first i want to go all around Asia i have 9000 Euro before flights i want to to go to India cost 800 pound with BA first do 4 to 5 week there den fly to Singapore with Tiger airways cost 65 Euro and from there to Bangkok den Vietnam , Laos , Cambodia would 35 Euro do me a day + costs 35 a day for 3 mounts is 3150 Euro + 1000 Euro to India + 65 Euro to Singapore = 4210 which well give me 4800 Euro going to Australia were I well work for 6 mounts

Why not book a return flight to Australia via Singapore or BKK, that will lower your transport costs for a start, those flights should be less than £800. Also without out-bound travel booked you may be denied entry to Australia. It also prevents you from being stuck there without a means of returning to Europe.

You can easily book a return fare between Singapore and India, or you can concentrate on travelling within South East Asia, and then travel to India on your return from Australia.

Welcome to Cambodia!

Its constant upgrading and improvements are in keeping with the country's growing popularity as a tourist destination.

As a nation that is rich in culture, history and heritage, Cambodia is fast becoming a popular tourist destination. Set towards the Southern end of Asia, Cambodia lies in the shape of a heart and is engulfed by Thailand on one end, Vietnam on another and Laos on the other end. This geographical position itself has resulted in giving Cambodia much of its diverse culture. Religiously speaking, Hinduism and Buddhism play vital roles within the country and thus have interesting attractions associated with these religious places of worship.

When visiting the country to view and experience all these attractions, one will no doubt have to touch down at the Phnom Penh International Airport. Situated in the country's capital, the namesake airport was originally named Pochentong International Airport. However the Royal Government of Cambodia in 1995 signed over a 20 year concession agreement with a private Company to upgrade, modernise, and manage the national airport, at which time the name change has taken place.

The Phnom Penh airport lies 7 Km away from the nation's capital itself and is situated on 16'000 square meters and is at an altitude of 12 meters above sea level. The airport has a single runway with an asphalt surface. The airport has both an international as well as domestic flight terminal and can cater to a total of 2 million passengers at a time. Duty Free shops, VIP lounges, and adequate parking are also available. The opening of the Dairy Queen outlet inside the airport premises marks the first international franchise to be opened within Phnom Penh International Airport.

Some of the airport's regular flight service providers include Angkor Airlines, Royal Khmer Airlines, President Airlines, AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, Dragonair, Bangkok Airways, Cathay Pacific, Jetstar Asia, Shanghai Airlines, Korean Air, Vietnam Airlines as well as Singapore Airlines.

Travellers touching down at Phnom Penh International Airport may be looking for a conveniently located hotel in Phnom Penh from which to base themselves. If so, the Raffles Hotel Le Royal with its state-of-the-art facilities and luxurious atmosphere is an ideal Phnom Penh hotel for all your accommodation needs.

I'm going to Laos during Chinese New Year next year so I need a little help?

Has anyone been to Laos before? I book a flight through AirAsia and it's included accomodation. Do you know any cheap & good travel agent over there?

Sure, I've been to Laos before ... Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang, Pakse, Champassak and some smaller places, which shall remain unnamed ... but you don't mention your destination.

There are many travel agents (or your hotel/guest house can help you) at the major tourist destinations.

whats the best travel site to find the cheapest airfare to asia?

looking for the lowest airfare to (vientiane, laos) from (san francisco, cali) looking for (roundtrip fare under $1200)

**i tried orbit.com, pricelines.com, cfares.com and among 4-5 others...price range between $1500-$2000..thats way too high!!!

i understand that oil prices are sky high forcing airlines to sky high their prices...but help!!!!

I wanna travel on october 1st -jan 3rd.
is this best time to travel or what?

I'm happy to try my strategies and methods for you, but *when* do you need to travel? Please update your question with this very important detail. I'll check back to complete my answer for you.

===== ok, thanks for adding dates

If you could be just a little bit flexible, cheapest I see is $1545 USD r/t total with all taxes and fees. This leaves Sep 30 and back on Jan 5. (Your exact dates are $300 more currently). This found with consolidator CheapOAir.com.

I also checked for low-cost air services at VTE, and see that Air Asia fly from Kuala Lampur quite cheaply -- $49 USD r/t around your dates. So, I checked SFO and surrounding airports (OAK, SJC, SMF) to KUL with BookingBuddy (link below) and found $984 via Cfares.com (free "gold" membership). Add the $49 Air Asia fare, be very careful to allow plenty of time between flights, and you're doing this trip for $1033.

What is the longest and shortest single plane ride you have ever been on?

I have been on a 50 minute ride from Vientiene to Xuam Nua in Laos. Also have been on a 14 hour flight from Toronto to Hong Kong.

My shortest flight was 10 minutes from wheels up to wheels down on a C-130 aircraft. We were testing some of the avionics, particulary the "weight on wheels" switch.

My longest flight would occur again on a military aircraft. We flew non-stop around the world with mid air refuels! It took approximately 23½ hours to complete the journey.

The Greek Riots and Who is to Blame!

Congratulations Mr Tsipra (SYN)!! Congratulations Mr. Alavanos (Sy.RI.ZA)!!

You managed very well your civil war organisation. Probably your masked army was not only Greek University students and School joung teens pupils but also foreigners with special barbar disposition to distroy the Greek cities. Because I do not think that Greek joung people can hate so much their own cities to make them ashes. Indeed between them were recognised joung teens and foreigners.

Do you know what did you managed?

1. To distroy the Greek and Goverment reputation over all the world (this was your aim);

2. Distroy the Democratic sysmbol of Greece internationally;

3. A joung teen Alexis be killed accidentally;

4. 100s families whose shops are distroyed now remain more poor than before in this crisis periods;

5. You intensified the economical crisis in the country seen that European Central Banks because of luck of trust to the goverment they increased the interest rated to govermental credits needed to save our economy.

How things are really happen? What is the truth? Here are in short:

1. First the pacific demonstrator of SY.RI.ZA in Omonoia place Athens

at the end of the long file of people you could already recognise some masked people following.

2. Some hours later started the riots on the street from masked extreme anarchics and vandalisms simultaneously in various Greek cities (Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Volos, Larisaa, etc..). Among them you could recognise (as later made known by the police from arrested extremists) foreigners, some pupils and university students. Later from the 176 people arrested 100 were foreigners with agressive and violations insticts and 76 Greeks.

3. Lot of Albanians and other emmigrants with no job started stealing the distroyed shops following behind the masked anarchists.

4. A child Alexis has been kild; On purpose or accidentally his death was a justice case. SY.RI.ZA profited from this and using flying papers distributed at schools try to engage pupils to go into the streets and demonstrate against the police and goverment with stones and what ever they could find in memorial of Alexis murder as they say (not yet defined if was a murder or an accident). Pupils has no right to take the law in their hands and demonstrate in the streets.

5. Tsipras comes back from Mytilini where there started new riots on the streets during his presence there.

6. Commerciants took the law in their hands to protect their properties from the vandals fighting aagainst them and pushing them far from their properties.

So, we have three waves of psople acting these days: The masked anarchic vandals, the unmasked pupils, and the commerciants.

Where have you been Mr. Tsipras all these days during the events? Mr. Tsipras was dissapeared. Because he was first somewere in the Polytechnic school in his head quarter to play the war captain (Alavanos was the war general) and guide strategically his barbar amy to make chaos and distroy the Greek cities. And he just also moved to Mytilini to move the joung people there as 2 days ago just started same anarchic events in Mytilini. And today Mr. Tsipras comes back, when now things are calmed down, to speak in the camera and support SYRIXA against the accuses received from LAOS and KKE that Mr. Alavanos "caresses the ears of the masked anarchic" (means that he supports these movements).

In all your speaches you both try to move joung people and now even students (as Mr. Alavanos did at the TV press) agasinst the goverment. And your wish was done. Today 1000s joung pupils of 15 years old stopped their lessons and make invasion in their schools and the Greek police offices. Are you outttt of yourrrrr mindddddd Mr. Alavanos and Tsipras!!!!!!!!! You are both monsters. Dangerous monsters for the Great Greek Democracy.

And you chose the good periods! Just after the Vatopedi scandal. To exterminate the Greek goverment, and create conditions for new elections. Certainly not for you. You are too small for that. Certainly to support PASOK for Mr. Papandreou. Is the only partei which did not react against you as did LAOS and Communists KKE.

And this barbar distructions and extreme anarchic behaviour is not the first time hapenned. Some years ago same hapenned but still the goverment is in its place. Last year you and PASOK asked your people to fire the whole Greece (Peloponese fires, etc..) in order to accuse, as you did, the Govemerment that can not do its job. Now you do the same.

World must know that Greek Democrasy is not easy to break. People like you try to distroy your own country for private benefits for your pockets. You must stop it.

I accuse you and Greek Press to be so stupid to transmit your wills and war messages to joung people. The death of Alexis Grigooropoulos is not due to a policeman. You are the moral responsible of this. The child was death from a broken trajectroy bullet and was God's will or was pre-written to die. Came his moment. Pitty for the child. You must be in the place of the accused policeman.

And the Press talking against the police, every body was telling his short and his long (Greek expression) accusing the police that they were barbars. Against whom?? Against the barbars?? When the police had a pathetic attitude (just watching) all the time you accused them that they do nothing to save the properties of innocent commerciants. But when they did something (shutting on the air, throughing gas capsules, shuting at the air, etc) you accused them as barbar. Have you the sense of logic?? What must polish then do? Some others said "Police should not be weapenned or not use chemical weapens (gas)". How then, according to you, they should arrest the barbars?? You expect that they should ask them gently "Please enter in the police truck to be arrested!!"? You created a unsecure situation for the whole Greek people who was watching news. They didn't know what 'to consider as correct and what not.

Why press is so negative against police? Why they call the vandals and anarchists simply demonstrators (diadilwtes) instead extreme anarchic vandals? They accuse continuesly barbar behaviour of the police against the demonstrators who are burning shops, throw molotof bombs and stones against them, breaking banks, distroying everything they can and have in front of them. Are you out of your mind Greek Press and TV? And what hapenned when a police guardian was fired entirely from a bomb molotof in Athens and another wounded from a stone thrown by a teen? Nothing hapenned. Police didn't react violently as pupils and student stupidly did. (Kounia pou sas kounagie esas kai tis rimades ideologies). You know why press behave as that? To make more readers of their press or have more audity of their TV programs. Some of them even support vanddalism as they telephonically interviewed in their TV program (yellow Press) Mr. Ksiros (a dangerous extremist who is actually in gail for several accuses) and also telephonically invited in interview a vandalist and caresse him with sympathy. Are you out of your mind Yellow Press? What money does. No morality. They need everything to make more vewbility of their program even if they confuse and make angry the Greek people with these their actions. They exagerated in everything.

All demonstrations now against police offices in all abroad countries are due to your stupidities said in your transmitions. That's why International Press gave so negative reports about Greece, the Greek events and the Greek Democracy. They say what you put in their mouths. Congratulations Greek Press!!! You have inconsciently contributed in succeeding the goals of these two gentlemen "the monsters generals of the anarchic autonoms" in our country.

This must be done known to all International Press.

Is not the uncapability of the Greek Goverment and of the Police to stop the anarchy. It was too much sudden and unexpected for everybody. Press managed to stop the police in doing their job (feared to be accused as barbars against the anarchists).

Now all Political Parties ask the Goverment to go. Yes this was their goal. Karamanlis and N.D must not go. Only the dangerous elements of our anti-politics must go and even dissapear from the political scene.

Scandal about Vatopedi does not exist in this sense. It was a theme which is going to be closed and it started during the PASOK govermental period. PASOK are the initiators. Siemens scandal is also started during PASOK goverment and discovered during Karamanlis N.D goverment. Some from goverment were accused but they are innocent in the Vatopedi "question". They only accepted to sign an exhange between gound and a lake for the eremites of Athos manastry as they convinced the ministers that they need the ground to build buldings to help and give spiritual support to Greek people. I do not accuse the ministers for that (see my blog about this subject http://www.gooblogg.com/index.php/2008/11/28/holy-mountain-at-athos-monastery-vatopedi-scandal-in-greece/).

Mr. Karamanlis didn't sale the Greek Telecom to Germans (who simply invested money under secure for Greece conditions) or didn't sale the Pereus port to China (who is ony rended with a good year income for the Greek people), or didn't sale Olympic Airways to foreigners as Olymic was a negative business and money loss for the goverment and needed external support as many other European Air companies (Air France, Italian Airway company etc..).

CONSEQUENTLY, all these so called by the anti-politics scandals in detriment of Mr. Karamanlis and his goverment ARE NOT SCANDALS. These are accuses of the un-moral politics who instead to collaborate positively with the giovernent to bring the country out of the economical crisis they create instead conditions in detriment of the welbeing of the Greek people in order to satisfy their political goals and their personal benefits.

BBC wrote that Greece has a easy-broken democracy. What about the UK police who killed an innocent Brasilian men during the anti-terror attacks? What about the scandal of strictly confidential data which has been difused out last year? And what about the political crisis in Italy and Mafia? What about the terror Basques in Spain killing inncovet people? What about the French vandalstic demonstrations of joung people last year? Are those stable democracies?

We can not speak therefore for an easy-broken Greek Democracy.

The morality is that so long goverments in Europe accept to have emmigrants in their countries without being able to offer them job and food, Europe will affront always this kind of riots and aggressions in the local national societies. A strong measure against this emmigrants invasion must be taken before is for Europe too late.

This report is destinate to the International Press and TV stations to know the truth.

Laos Airline flights?

hi, i was just looking at laos airlines international multistop flights like, Hanoi / Luang Prabang / Siem Reap, and i was wondering if you have to book all flights beforehand, or can you book your first flight, then when your ready to leave the first destination book the next one, and so forth?
thanks

It depends on the fare that you choose to pay. If you want a cheap excursion fare, there would be some restrictions on reservations, like no rebooking allowed or rebooking penalties apply or closed confirmed reservations required for all sectors. If, on the other hand, you are willing to purchase a regular published fare like regular economy or regular business, you can leave all sectors open and you can even revise your routing anytime. Just make sure that you clarify everything with your travel agent or Lao Aviation.

Indochina's sights are simply amazing. Bon voyage!
