Are there any special events happening in asia in April and May?
I'm going to the travel agent in a few days to book my flights and would like to plan it around these events...Going to Bali, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Laos. Not sure what order yet. If you know a good website which i can go to for these sorts of thing, it would help also. Cheers.
Thailand's New Year (Songkran) is in mid April...that's fun, but you're likely to get wet. Rough Guides usually have the best info on world festivals etc. Try Lonely Planet's website too....go to the individual country that you are interested in and then check the Events page. There are always festivals going on in Bali - it's just a case of being in the right place at the right time. I certainly came across a few whilst I was there and that was May of the year I visited. Just make sure you respect the religious sensibilities of the locals. Have a great trip.
