Hotels in Laos?
Not sure if My parties and I would be heading to laos after a trip in thailand, but i want to know if it's possible to drive from bangkok to laos. would prolly spend a couple days in Laung P. do i have to pay for a car? and what hotel in Laung P. is the nearest to Thai's border? thanks a heaps.
It's a long drive to Loas, but sure you can. I think it is as long as driving to Chiang Mai. Usually, people will stay over in NongKai, which is on the Thai side, and cross the bridge to Loas in the morning, have a tour in Loas and come back for a night on the Thai side, and go back again in the morning. I did that. Went there however some 15 years ago. Don't know the inside Loas situation now, but sure to think the Thai side still much more developed. I was eating Somtum in Loas (the papaya salad) and looking over the Mae Klong river and saw the Thai side brightened up in the sky while the Loas side still very dark, but sure greener with forest.
