Solo or Group Tour, SE ASIA?
Im wanting to visit Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos this year and i was wondering wether i should go it alone, or if it would be easier to join a small groups tour like Intrepid or Imtrav.
I have read and been told the boarder crossings from both sides of cambodia are difficult ( to get there), and same with Laos.
Would it be best to go with a tour company and let them do it all for me or would i be best to go it alone and how hard is it??
Thanks
Go Solo. SE Asia is an extremely hospitable place, and a bit of common sense will do a great deal more of help.
I've crossed several borders among Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam - easy, no hassle as long as you have necessary visas beforehand.
Borders at Cambodia and Laos are not a problem at all, apart from Vietnam, where the custom officers are straight-faced without a smile.
There's hordes of tourists in this region, so you're likely hook up a few as you go along.
Just a small hint - Cambodia is the most expensive among the four you mentioned. But therein lies Angkor - the most magnificent man-made structure ever to stand on earth.
Go for it mate!
