An Overview Of The Central Region Of Vietnam

The S-shaped Vietnam consists of three regions: the large delta regions in the north and the south and the long and narrow Central Vietnam in between.

There are three sub-regions in the Central Vietnam: the Northern Central, the Central Highlands and the Southern Central.

The Northern Central includes the mountains in the west and shares borderline with Laos. This sub-region run from ThanhHoa to Hue.

The Central Highlands, including Kon Tum, Gia Lai, DakLak, DakNong and Lam Dong, lies in the west and western south of the Central which share borderlines with both Laos and Cambodia.

The Southern Central consists of the whole region along the coastline. The provinces belong to this region are Da Nang, Quang Nam, QuangNgai, BinhDinh, KhanhHoa (NhaTrang), BinhThuan,...

The Central Vietnam offers some great sites for tourists such as Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, NhaTrang, My Son, PhongNha – Ke Bang, Dalat, Mui Ne... with historical values, cultural values as well as wonderful beaches (Lang Co, Ca Na, Cua Dai...).

Da Nang is recognized to have beautiful beaches worldwide. When visiting this modern city, tourists will have a chance to relax at the beaches or tour around the city. As a fast-growing city with tourism as one of the key industries, Da Nang offers all type of tourist services and accommodation. Resorts and hotels in Da Nang are available to all type of budgets.

Hoi An and Hue are great sites for tourists interested in cultural and historical value as one is the ancient town with French colonial architecture and the other is the ancient citadel of Nguyen Dynasty for during the 150 year reign. Thanks to tourists flocking these cities every year, Hue hotels and Hoi An hotels are mushroomed with all ranges of prices available.

Dalat is an ideal destination for couples thanks to its pleasant climate, picturesque scenery and peaceful atmosphere. The city is also famous for its flowers gardens with various flowers (rose, tulip, hydrangea, orchids...), romantic lakes and waterfalls. Staying at any Dalat hotel in the central town, tourists will have a chance to enjoy the wonderful scenes around town from a balcony in the morning.

There are two seasons in the Central Vietnam, dry season and rainy season. The unique point of climate here is that these two seasons don't come at the same time as the dry and rainy season in both the North and the South Vietnam. This region is also the only region that suffers flood almost every year in Vietnam, the flood season is from July to December. Thus, the best time to visit Central Vietnam is during the dry season. However, tourists should be cautious and be aware of any flood forecast to stay safe.
