An Overview Of The Central Region Of Vietnam
The S-shaped Vietnam consists of three regions: the large delta regions in the north and the south and the long and narrow Central Vietnam in between.
There are three sub-regions in the Central Vietnam: the Northern Central, the Central Highlands and the Southern Central.
The Northern Central includes the mountains in the west and shares borderline with Laos. This sub-region run from ThanhHoa to Hue.
The Central Highlands, including Kon Tum, Gia Lai, DakLak, DakNong and Lam Dong, lies in the west and western south of the Central which share borderlines with both Laos and Cambodia.

This region is also the only region that suffers flood almost every year in Vietnam, the flood season is from July to December. Thus, the best time to visit Central Vietnam is during the dry season. However, tourists should be cautious and be aware of any flood forecast to stay safe.
