What is the most efficient itinerary (travel by land): A)BKK-Laos-Cambodia-Viet OR B)BKK-Cambodia-Laos-Viet?
Hello people! I need your help. Im planning a backpacking trip to Indochina and trying to gather some info from the internet but I need some answers based on experience :)
Which itinerary would be most efficient for a backpacker traveling BY LAND:
A.) Bangkok-Laos-Cambodia-Vietnam OR
B.) Bagkok-Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam
Basically, do I go to Laos or Cambodia first from Bangkok?
Places i want to visit are the ff:
Laos - just Luang Prabang
Cambodia - just Siem Reap

which part of vietnam are you going to visit?
last year i went backpacking vietnam, cambodia, thailand, malaysia, singapore. i have to cancel my trip to laos because laos is far away on north than those other countries i mentioned. the easiest way to go to laos from bangkok is by plane. other than that you have to take an overnight bus or train (spend a night at one of the city along the way to luang prabang).
Bangkok and Cambodia (siem reap) is pretty close to each other. it took about 6 hours by bus via aranyaprathet (thailand) - poipet (cambodia) border. it's a big bus and spent about 5 USD for the bus (i don't remember exactly but it's not more than 10 dollar). it is so easy.
to answer your question, go with B... bangkok is closer to Cambodia than Laos.
