Are people from Laos also called Laotians?
I know the they are called mungs but i also heard the term Loatian. Granted i heard it from King of The HIll, but T.V. is pretty reliable, right? lol
Yes, people from Laos are called Laotians, but there are many tribal groups in Laos who each have their own distinct customs and way of life and in many cases also their own language. The Laos are the largest ethnic group in the country and they give the country it's name, they mostly live in the lowlands. Many of the tribal peoples who are Laos nationals will describe themselves first by refering to their tribe e.g. Hmong (not mung), Tai Dam, Lisu etc.
